Cornwall is a place that has long been one of the most popular UK based holiday destinations – the beautiful countryside and also the miles of stunning coastline and temperate climate all add up to make it a holiday hotspot – but there are lots of places that you can visit in Cornwall, so if you are unsure of where to go, here is a guide to some popular places to spend a Cornish holiday…

Bude – Beautiful Bude, found on the Northern Cornish coastline was developed as a seaside resort by the Victorians and has been popular with visitors ever since. This small town is perfect for families, as the beach is sandy and there is a sea pool where you can enjoy a dip on a hot summer’s day. If you want the wilderness, get a boat out to Lundy Island to see the wildlife that inhabits this sanctuary in the sea.

Penzance – When you think of Penzance, pirates is probably one of the first things that comes to mind, and indeed this is a place awash with tales of pirates and smugglers. As well as the beautiful coastline, there is also stunning countryside inland, and you can see the beautiful St Michaels Mount from the shore here.

Newquay – If you want a fun filled and action packed holiday, then head to Newquay. The destination for those who are looking for a party by the sea, as well as being a top spot for surfers, you will never be bored on a holiday in Newquay. There are plenty of beaches to enjoy, plenty of places to enjoy the nightlife and also lots of walks to enjoy too, such as the South West Coast Path.

Looe – Found in the South East of Cornwall, Looe is best known for its pretty harbour – not only a joy to walk around but also providing Looe with another thing that appeals to visitors – freshly caught seafood. Head to the nature reserve to enjoy the beauty of the natural area and of course there are also beautiful beaches to enjoy.
