From the time you make your initial enquiry to installation is usually 2 – 6 weeks, with labour in the home normally lasting only about a day or two. How much time that takes will vary depending on whether the design is bespoke, how booked up the fitter or joiner is, and if you want something a bit special in terms of finishes.
Design and quote: a couple of days to two weeks
If your room is simple and you are happy using a standard layout, some companies can also quickly return to basic design. For something more custom (think weird alcoves, pitched ceilings, plenty of drawers or illumination), you can anticipate a little bit more backwards and forwards. Typical delays occur here from having measurements finalised, selecting door styles and switching internal layouts. Survey and post-test measurements (30–90 minutes)
Correct measurement is necessary and important because a UK home is not always square. This appointment is usually scheduled a week or two out unless there are any openings.
Producing & prepping (1 – 4 weeks)
The wardrobe design will be approved and signed off if necessary – materials are then ordered. Anything more you can think of, such as custom colours, mirrored doors, or specialist finishes, will take additional time.
Fitting day (1 – 2 days, sometimes longer)
All the standard bedrooms can be sized and installed in just one day. Two may be necessary for larger closets, tight corners or special features.
Small note: Clear the slate early, get your “must-haves” out of the way before a design call and always have written confirmation for availability.
